Thank you fishwhisperer. I still have a ways to go, so hopefully it will all work out.

Not much to update on except that I stripped off the black foam. I may use some where the roots meet the water's surface for added bulk where floatation isn't an issue. I have several diameters of rope to help the look of the roots to add bulk and realism. I started adding the largest diameter. No pics yet, but I think that I like the look of it.

I also need to find a way to secure it to the rock work. Initially, I was looking to attach it to the intake tube, but I'm thinking more and more about a peg/hole attachment somehow. I want it to be removable, yet secure.

Hey Chas, just checking in. I think alot of us have had to put our projects down from time to time. We just get busy with other work/life stuff. How's it going?

Hi Glenn.

I've been focusing on brackish tanks of late. I've been spending my free time outdoors collecting native brackish fish for them. So yeah, I set this project aside for a bit. I plan on working more and more on it as temps outside cool down and my target species move out to deeper water. I have one more collecting trip planned, then after that, I'll probably get back to work on this tank.

Thanks for checking in on me :) More to come for sure.

I guess I need to start a build thread here on my other tank concept (the brackish stuff). Right now, it involves a 100g build plus a 40g or so sump, plus two 20g holding tanks (that are serving as display tanks for now). The concept is an oyster reef biotope.

Sounds cool. I was a one of those kids searching local streams and lakes for whatever I could take home so share your motivation/interest. Anything you can share on your brackish water projects would be great!

OK, I'll start a thread on that project. I have a lot of catching up to do (posting pics and such). It's like the project that never ends, LOL.
