More silicone info

Postby maggiedog1 » Sat Apr 23, 2016 8:35 am

Hi everyone. I called GE and they told me all their silicone is unsafe for aquarium use, it will kill fish. All of their silicone has mold and mildew inhiberators even if its not listed on the tube.He sugjested going to grainger and use rtv100. I did that and it is DAP commercial kitchen stainless steel silicone specialty cauck. FDA approved, but it still lists mold and mildwe inhibators. Im creating a styrafoam/cement back ground and still dont know what to use after a lot of research. All comments welcome.

Marineland makes a 10 oz tube of Aquarium Sealant designed for caulking guns. It's just a few dollars more than the GE brand silicon. Here's one place to get it online. ... AmrB8P8HAQ
