Do-it-Yourself
Pinewood Aquarium Stand

With the underside coat of paint done, the stand
is righted and topside is done. Brush on primer
and finishing coat are always an option and
provide a smoother, more durable painted
surface.
Since this was intended as a weekend project,
an oil based spray-paint was used which still
provides an attractive result and water
resistance for those occasional, but inevitable
spills during aquarium maintenance.
The natural brown color suits our purpose to not
distract from the aquarium display itself.
The 6 inch shelf in front of this small aquarium
will be a handy work area for tank maintenance.
The completed solid pine aquarium stand
project collectively took about 6 hours to
complete over a weekend and will likely last for
many years.
The design concept is simple and can be
scaled and modified as needed to
accommodate much larger aquariums.
